Does it worth your time?

A very pretty game. The visuals are amazing. The game is a triple-A and it certainly looks like one. The gameplay is very very interesting for a deck building game, lots of battles and puzzles. You get to play with a nice variety of decks, apart from your own, and you can discover quite a few winning card combinations. If you never played any deck building games before and your are unsure if this can be your first, then I highly recommend it to you.

99% of the achievements will come naturally as long as you visit everything on every chapter and fight every battle available. The game autosaves so you will be forced for a second playthrough if you miss any achievement. Although choosing the easy difficulty, the game will win the battles for you, speeding up the playthrough.

First Playthrough

Even though there are many missable achievements, the majority of them can be unlocked just by discovering everything in the map. You need to acquire the Scouting ability as soon as possible, talk to everybody until you exhaust their dialogue, read every notice board and fight every battle you encounter. The game will warn you on every point of no return and let you know how many puzzles and treasure chests are left.

During the game you will have to make dialogue choices. Those choices will affect some achievements, which means if you make the 'wrong' choice, you will have to start a new playthrough, since the game autosaves. Finally, be careful how you spend your resources. First, upgrade everything from your camp, and then craft new cards. But most likely you will have more resources than you can spend.

The achievements you need to be wary of are the combat related. In total 6: All Present and Accounted For Win a non-Puzzle Battle without any of your units being killed. , Was that supposed to hurt? Win a non-Puzzle Battle with less than 10 damage taken in total. , Once more! Again! Use Meve to trigger allies' Loyal abilities 100 times. , Party's over! Kill 9 enemies simultaneously. , In Good Company Play 5 or more characters in one battle. and I have the power! End a round with a score of over 300. . Remember you can always surrender and restart the fight.

There are a total of 11 unmissable achievements: I'll show them! Finish the Thronebreaker tutorial. , Never give up, never surrender! Complete the main story line for Lyria. , Lord of the Moulderwood Defeat Eldain. , Among the Ashes Complete the main story line for Aedirn. , Perfectly harmless... Defeat Kelltulis the dragon. , We have the high ground! Complete the main story line for Mahakam. , Revenge is best served cold... Kill count Caldwell. , Gvaern Ichaer Defeat Gernichora. , Witcher to the Rescue Complete the main story line for Angren. , There's no place like home... Complete the main story line for Rivia. and Return of the Queen Finish the Thronebreaker campaign. .

For discovering everything in the map you will unlock Those gears are turning... Complete 20 Puzzles. , Plutocracy Earn 10,000 or more gold. , I'll probably need this later... Gather 5,000 wood throughout the game. , I want YOU for the Lyrian Army Recruit 200 Soldiers. , Cartographer Collect 15 Treasure Maps. , Tax Collector Find all golden chests. , Pilgrim Pray at 10 Shrines. , Through the Fourth Wall Find an Easter Egg. and Hoarder Obtain 10 trinkets. .

For crafting all the buildings in your camp you will earn A-ten-hut! Unlock all of Raynard's Buildings. , Dogs of War Unlock all of Gascon's Buildings. and Army Camp Tycoon Fully upgrade your army camp. . You will need to caft new cards for At ease, Private! Train your first Raynard Unit. , Dog Trainer Train your first Gascon Unit. and One Big Happy Family Own at least one copy of each non-Reynard, non-Gascon unit. .

The remaining 7 achievements will be affected by your choices and some will carry through the next chapters. For recruiting heroes you will earn Distillation of Filth Kill the Manticore. , For the Good Book states... Recruit Eyck into your army. , Arf! Arf! Grrr... Recruit the dog into your army. , 1. Do no harm Recruit Isbel into your army. and Out of the sizzlixer into the fire Recruit Barnabus Beckenbauer into your army. . Finally, Arms Race Obtain all weapons. for obtaining all the weapons for Meve and Burn After Reading Read all spymaster letters. for reading all the letters.
